This is one of two permanent exhibitions that Design Mill planned, designed and installed for the Steinhardt museum of natural history, which is the largest of its kind in the Middle East.
The design concept of the exhibition follows a modernistic and functional approach, aimed to eliminate the barriers. By minimizing the use of railings, we formed an “invitation of trust” between the visitors and the objects on display which is a rare approach in the nature museum exhibition realm.
The exhibition shows a variety of animals both from Israel and around the world. The content of the exhibition focuses on how the forms and functions of the species were developed in adaptation to their living environment and survival needs. On top of the ability for observation in closer detail, we placed interactive stations throughout the exhibition to incorporate active learning for topics such as how muscle and joints are put into use by different creatures.
